The Best-Laid Plans

So, our plan had been to subway to the South Ferry, then a short walk to the Ikea Ferry, then ferry to Ikea for lunch & a brief browse. After that we were going to take a cab to the Brooklyn Gardens, wander the gardens, subway to the Brooklyn Bridge to walk across, and finish the outing with a subway ride home... that was the plan.
The subway ride was good and we walked the short walk to the ferry and found where we needed to be easily. However, we got to the pier about 10:30 and the sign said the first ferry wasn't scheduled until 2:00... so, we shuffled. We walked up to Wall Street for some lunch and to catch the subway to the gardens.

The gardens were beautiful and the boys and I took a TON of pictures of flowers. Only going to put a couple here now and will link an album in here later. For now, though...

After the Brooklyn Gardens, we walked about a mile looking for a taxi.

We finally found one and got a ride to Ikea, where Jacob and I sprinted through the store ooh-ing and ahh-ing. Having already walked miles, we decided not to walk the Brooklyn Bridge and just caught the ferry for the ride back to Manhattan.

The views (and temperature!) on the ferry were awesome!

The other views were nice too...
