The train headed north from Klamath is on time much more often than it used to be. However, even if the train is on time 95% of the time, that still means that 5% of the time... you wait. Or, in our case, you find other transportation and send the rest of your family on the train on a later date. Jason and Jacob were supposed to take the train to Portland last Saturday to catch their flight to Miami, FL. They had a four hour time period between when the train was supposed to arrive and when their flight was scheduled to leave. It seemed like plenty of time for a train that has been getting praise for it's big improvement in on-time departures. That was not the case on Saturday. By 8:30am, the train was already 3+ hours behind schedule and getting later as time went by, so a decision was made that Jason and Jacob would drive to Portland, then Spencer and I would take the train to Portland on Tuesday (tomorrow). We begin that adventure in the morning...and, the train can even be late and it will be okay, our flight to Newark, NJ doesn't leave until Wednesday midday.
Wish us luck....
